Bad for Tottenham: Son Heung-min has injury problems before Newcastle

Tottenham 2 – Watford 1

After successive cup losses to Chelsea and Crystal Palace, Tottenham returned to winning ways against Watford.

However Spurs snatched victory from the jaws of defeat against the Hornets.

Mauricio Pochettino continues to suffer with depleted selection options.

Star striker Harry Kane remains several weeks away from returning to action, while Dele Alli is also on the treatment table.

As a result of these injuries, Fernando Llorente is now receiving minutes in the Spurs XI.

The Spanish striker scored the winner against Watford after Son Heung-min had levelled in the 80th minute.

Craig Cathcart had fired Watford ahead in the first half.

Son Heung-min injury doubt before Newcastle

Next up for Tottenham are Newcastle United.

The Magpies head to Wembley on Saturday following their impressive 2-1 win over Man City in midweek.

Will Son Heung-min be fit for Spurs against Rafa Benitez’s men?

Son was back in action for the Lillywhites against Watford following his involvement at the Asian Cup with South Korea.

After the Watford game Pochettino confirmed that Son finished the game with cramp:

He finished very tired, with some cramp. We’ll see if he can recover for the next game, if he’s ok maybe he’s going to be in the starting XI, if not on the bench. For sure if we need him, he’s going to help the team.
