Bad for Liverpool: Manchester United set bookie record before Manchester City

Manchester United have set a new record with the bookies ahead of Wednesday’s Manchester Derby.

The Red Devils head into the clash having lost six of their last eight leaving the club in disarray.

United’s recent form and remaining fixtures now look set to cost them the top four.

Manchester United head into Wednesday’s clash with Manchester City at the longest odds they have ever been in the Premier League era to win at Old Trafford, according to Ladbrokes.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said:

“They’re in a dreadful run of form right now but it looks as though things will get a lot worse for Solskjaer’s men, who have set a new record in our books.”

Ladbrokes Latest Betting: Manchester United v Manchester City

Man United – 11/2
Draw – 7/2
Man City – 4/9

Previously, the biggest odds quoted by the bookies for United to win at Old Trafford came in this fixture last season at 11/5.

Much is at stake on Wednesday with United’s final chance of getting the top four and City’s final major hurdle in the title race.

Solskjaer will know that failure to beat City could spell the end of their Champions League qualification hopes.

United trail Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea by three points and Arsenal by two.

Meanwhile, should Pep Guardiola’s side negotiate their way past United, they will have one hand on the title.
