Monaco star Thomas Lemar looks to be on his way out of the club in the summer and both Liverpool and Arsenal want to sign the Frenchman.
The forward was subject to interest from both teams at several points both in the winter and summer windows.
Arsenal even nearly signed the player in the summer when they lodged a record bid on deadline day.
Though, the player was supposedly not sure on a move to the Gunners at that time and there was not enough time to complete a deal.
That meant that the club would likely go back in for the player but even when Alexis Sanchez left in January, they moved for other targets.
Now, it still looks as though the club want to sign him in the summer but it’s Liverpool in the driver’s seat.
Liverpool, who were also looking to sign the player as a replacement for Philippe Coutinho in both the summer and January are also in the hunt for Lemar.
Though, most interesting they are in the lead to sign him and it’s being reported that the player prefers a move to Anfield.
It looks as though he will get his move too, having rejected a contract offer from Monaco.
That means that the club will likely return for the player this summer having reportedly had a £78millon bid rejected.
Whether they can beat Arsenal to him is yet to be seen but they look to be in pole position.
