Tottenham close in on Vincent Janssen transfer

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino looks set to complete the signing of €22m AZ Alkmaar striker Vincent Janssen.

The 22-year-old Dutchman was top scorer in the Eredivisie last season and has had his heart set on a move to White Hart Lane all summer.

He has only played one season in the top tier of Dutch football – scoring 27 goals – but looks set to rival Harry Kane for a place in the starting XI this season.

Reports coming out of Holland this morning suggested Spurs had agreed terms with AZ Alkmaar for the signing of Vicent Janssen.

Janssen confirms Tottenham move is almost done

Vincent Janssen left AZ Alkmaar training early on Friday morning and appears to have played his final game in an Alkmaar shirt.

He told Noordhollands Dagblad that he was leaving training and would wait for a phone call confirming the transfer to Tottenham.

“AZ and Spurs are talking now. It’s not 100%, but it’s looking good. Otherwise I would have trained,” he said after being pictured leaving the AZ Alkmaar training ground. “I’m happy the clubs are talking now. I’m going to go home and wait until I get a message. It could be in hour but it could also take longer.”

The highly rated young striker scored a brace in a friendly earlier this week.
