United States 4 – Panama 0
The United States have turned it around.
Until recently there were major doubts if America would be able to book a place at next summer’s World Cup in Russia.
The Americans still haven’t completed the job. But they made a significant statement of intention on Friday night against Panama.
In a match that the US needed to win, they recorded a comfortable 4-0 victory.
The star of the show was 19-year-old Borussia Dortmund star Christian Pulisic.
The teenager opened the scoring in the first half with a brilliantly taken solo effort.

Pulisic then turned provider for Jozy Altidore, before an Altidore penalty put the US 3-up before the break.
Booby Wood sealed the win with a fourth in the second half.

Christian Pulisic is injured
America take on Trinidad & Tobago in their final match of the 2018 qualifiers.
T & T are bottom of the group with one win and eight defeats in nine games.
The United States are expected to win the game, which will confirm their place at the World Cup.
But will Pulisic be in the American XI? That’s a doubt after the Borussia Dortmund star was subbed out the Panama game after just 57 minutes.
While some fans may have hoped the substitution was a precautionary measure, it seems Pulisic was already hurt.
Footage from after the Panama game has now surfaced revealing how the BVB star limped out of the game.
The good news is Pulisic was able to walk by himself.
But will he be risked in the final group game?
