Aubameyang trolls Ozil after Leicester win

Extending their unbeaten run to double digits on Monday night, it appears there is a new found optimism around Arsenal.

With a resurgent Mesut Ozil putting in a Man of the Match performance and scoring Arsenal’s first, the 30-year-old couldn’t resist going back to have a look at his finish.

However, he wasn’t aware that Monday night’s two-goal hero Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was also watching on.

The Gabon international couldn’t resist putting it up on social media, along with an hilarious caption.

Arsenal’s stellar start

Despite losing their opening two Premier League matches against Chelsea and Manchester City, it has been quite the turn around for Arsenal.

Settling to life under Unai Emery, the Gunners have now not dropped a single point in any competition since the 18th of August.

Battling back to pick up a 3-1 win over Leicester on Monday night, the former PSG boss now sees his side just two points adrift of the leading duo.

Appearing to be adapting well to the post-Arsene Wenger era, Emery was quick to praise his side following yesterday’s victory.

The Spaniard was also quick to acknowledge Ozil’s contribution.

“We are happy because we are progressing. We need to play with organisation but also we are beginning to play with heart,”

“Today the performance of the team, and also of Mesut, was very good.”

Next up for Emery’s men, Arsenal travel to Sporting Lisbon in their third Europa League matchup.

Ozil breaks record

After finishing off a beautiful move and netting his third goal of the season against the Foxes, the now former German international also broke a longstanding record.

Scoring his 30th top flight goal, the 30-year-old becomes the highest scoring German player in Premier League history.

Ozil had previously spent some time sharing top spot with both Uwe Rosler and Jurgen Klinsmann, who each scored 29 times during their stay in England.
