Move is off, for now
Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has revealed that he will not speak about Real Madrid anymore after a failed move.
The Gabonese striker was set for a move to Madrid during the summer and had openly spoken of his desire to move to the Bernabeu.
The player and club knew a move was likely but he stayed committed to Dortmund during pre-season and the beginning of the season, unlike Ousmane Dembele.
Dembele went on strike at the German club to force through a move to Barcelona but Aubameyang did not do that and respected the club.
Though, he was unable to get his move in the end and has revealed that he will no longer speak of interest from Real Madrid as long as he remains a player of Dortmund’s.
While revealing this, he also revealed why he will not speak of them and that comes after he suggested they do no longer want him.
“I shall no longer speak of Madrid. They don’t want me,” he explained.
“This is not a problem. I move forward, I am well in Dortmund.”
“We had an agreement with Borussia that I could leave. It didn’t happen. It is a disappointment. But I’m also happy to stay.”
Aubameyang also admitted that AC Milan did make a move for the player and that he was ‘very’ interested in moving but a move fell through.
“Milan offered me something.”
“I was very interested in the project, [but] It did not happen for many reasons.”
