Aubameyang explains how Mkhitaryan convinced him to join Arsenal

The key to his signature

Arsenal’s big January signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has explained how pivotal Henrikh Mkhitaryan was to making a move happen.

The Gabon striker moved to the club in January having cause big issues with Borussia Dortmund.

That lead to a large deal that brought him to Arsenal as the replacement for Alexis Sanchez.

Though, it wasn’t Arsenal’s ambitions, Arsene Wenger or any other reason why the player joined.

He has actually revealed just how much of an effect that Mkhitaryan had on the deal.

Safe to say, the pair of players are very close and Arsenal fans will be looking forward to seeing them together.

‘He called me a few times and asked, ‘”Will you come or not?’ The 28-year-old explained.

‘I said, “First you have to tell me if you signed or not.

‘He told me it was all done — and of course, it was a big factor in me coming here.

‘It’s like being reunited with a brother, a good friend. We played together in the past and I’m really happy to see him again.’

‘We understand each other on and off the pitch, that’s why it’s easier on the pitch.

‘[The fans] have to be happy [to see us together], we will do our best of course like we did in the past.’

‘We know each other on and off the pitch.’

Bad for Arsenal: Thomas Lemar wants Liverpool move

While Arsenal pulled off one deal, they are looking unlikely to land another.

That is because Liverpool are set to snap up Monaco’s Thomas Lemar.

The Frenchman nearly moved to Arsenal on deadline day in the summer but the move fell through.

Now, he firmly has his eyes set on a move to Anfield.
