Aubameyang compares Arsenal & Liverpool’s attacking trios

Liverpool vs Arsenal

Liverpool and Arsenal are set to go head-to-head on Saturday, in the late Premier League kick-off.

The tie should be very exciting for neutrals, with a lot of goals a real possibility.

The last three meetings between Arsenal and Liverpool have seen both teams score, with the last fixture having ended 5-1 to Liverpool.

Neither side’s defence has looked particularly solid this campaign, either.

Aubameyang on Liverpool & Arsenal’s attack

As well as their back-lines not looking that great this season, both sides are blessed with some top quality attackers.

Liverpool’s front three of Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane is one of the top attacks in Europe.

Across all competitions in 2018/19, that trio netted 69 goals and assisted 19.

As for Arsenal, their attack is a lot newer than Liverpool’s, but could still prove deadly.

After signing Nicolas Pepe from Lille over the summer, Unai Emery can now deploy a front three of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Pepe.

As such, ahead of the Liverpool clash, Aubameyang has been comparing Liverpool’s trio to Arsenal’s, claiming that he sees a lot of similarities:

“As we’ve seen from last season, Liverpool play with three up front and they play very well. Why not us? I think we can do it

“It will be a tough game against them. They are great players. They always try to go forward and try to get goals and assist each other. They are one of the best trios in the world.

“I see a lot of similarities.

“Pepe and me, we are quick players like Mane and Salah, while Laca is a player who can keep the ball and is really good with his feet like Firmino. So yes, we can say we are close enough.” As quoted by Sky Sports News.
