One Atletico Madrid midfielder has revealed that French forward Antoine Griezmann is ‘free to leave’ the club in the January transfer window.
The attacker has been the subject of interest from Barcelona this week and much has been made of a potential move.
Reports have claimed that the Catalan giants are in advanced talks with Atletico for the players’ services and a deal is a real possibility.
To further fuel the first, Atletico midfielder Koke has revealed that the play is free to leave if he feels he needs to move on.
Though, that was not without the player firing a shot at the forward if he was to leave the club.
Admitting that Griezmann is happy at the club, Koke was still not sure if he is willing to stay or not.
‘Talking about Griezmann, he had the chance to leave after the last season, but he didn’t. So I think that means he likes it here,” Koke explained.
“We always say if somebody doesn’t like it here, he’s free to leave. The club and I want the best, we want committed players.”
‘Those who aren’t [committed], just have to ask for a transfer. We only want players who are 100 percent focused here.”
“[Griezmann] does look committed to Atletico. In the last month, the reality is that we haven’t been any good and little by little we will improve.”
Another twist in Griezmann’s future
While a Barcelona move has been the most talked about this week, it’s not the only move.
Another club has come to the forefront and reports this week suggest they are willing to make a move.
That club is not Manchester United, who are also expected to compete for the players signature.
