Atletico Madrid CEO Gil Marin confirms Antoine Griezmann will join Barcelona

Griezmann to join Barcelona this summer

Atletico Madrid chief executive Gil Marin has revealed that he’s known that Antoine Griezmann will join Barcelona since March.

Griezmann announced back in May that he’ll leave Atletico Madrid in the summer transfer window.

Speaking in a video on posted on Atletico Madrid’s social media pages, the Frenchman admitted that now is the right time for him to leave.

“The truth is it has been difficult to take this route but it is what I feel I need and I would like to thank all of you for the love you have shown me during these five years,” he explained in the video.

Despite his comments, there has been little movement in terms of his future.

That has left the world wondering where he will end up.

It was initially thought that he would join Barcelona after announcing his departure, but it all went quiet.

Manchester United were then linked with a move, but again, nothing came of it.

Now, Atletico Madrid chief executive Gil Marin has pretty much confirmed that Barcelona will be Griezmann’s next club.

“I am very certain where Antoine will play, we have known since March”

Speaking in an interview with Movistar Plus’ Toros, as cited by Goal, Marin explained that he’s known about Griezmann’s move to Barcelona since March.

“I am very certain where Antoine will play, we have known since March,” Marin explained.

“It is in Barcelona.”

With little doubt remaining about where Griezmann will end up, it should only be a matter of time before a move is confirmed.
