Aston Villa will ‘break the bank’ to keep Man United-linked Jack Grealish at club – Mirror

Man United linked with Grealish

Jack Grealish has had a superb return to the Premier League this season.

The Englishman has arguably been Aston Villa’s MVP throughout their first season back in the English top-flight.

Villa, as a group, are struggling somewhat, and began Sunday teetering above the relegation zone.

But whilst the Lions are floundering, Grealish has been in top form, netting seven and assisting five in 23 Premier League outings before Sunday.

Grealish would provide an assist on Sunday as Villa lost 3-2 vs Tottenham.

The 24-year-old also played a pivotal role in getting Dean Smith’s side to the 2020 League Cup final.

And, in the midst of his emphatic season, Grealish has been heavily linked with a move away from Villa Park in the summer.

A report recently emerged suggesting that Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona were interested in Grealish.

But it has been fellow Premier League outfit Manchester United that have been most heavily linked with the Villa standout, with it being reported that the Red Devils are prioritising a huge summer bid for Grealish.

The Telegraph then claimed that Grealish will consider a summer move to test himself at the next level. That article also mentioned that Man United are admirers of Grealish.

Aston Villa to ‘break the bank’ for Grealish

And whilst the Villa faithful were no doubt disappointed to hear that Grealish will reportedly consider a summer move, they will probably be more excited to read the Mirror’s most recent piece regarding their star man.

According to the Mirror, writing late on Saturday evening, Aston Villa will break the bank to keep Grealish at the club.

The report from the Mirror then suggests that Dean Smith has hinted that the former England under-21 international is in line for an eye-watering new deal to ward off potential interest.

Smith stated that Villa’s owners will be working very hard to make sure their best players stay at the club:

“We’ve got two magnificent owners who want this club to be successful.

“We’ve got two magnificent owners who want this club to be successful.

“They have got an awful lot of money which they’ve earned through their hard work in their businesses.

“They know that if you want to be a successful team you have to keep your best players. They will be working very hard to make sure our best players stop at this football club.

“That’s the best answer I can give about Jack.” As quoted by the Mirror.
