Villa’s spending spree
Aston Villa won promotion to the Premier League this past season, beating Derby County in the Championship play-off final.
Villa suffered heartbreak in the final the year before when they lost out to Fulham, but they managed to avenge that defeat in May.
The 2019/20 season will be the club’s first season back in the Premier League since 2016.
Villa’s relegation at the end of the 2015/16 campaign marked the end of their 29-year stay in the English top-flight.
Now, though, Dean Smith’s side look to be doing everything in their power to ensure that they aren’t relegated again.
While we are only at the beginning of July, Aston Villa have already been rather active in the transfer market.
Villa have already officially signed six players. The newly-promoted team have acquired the services of Jota, Kortney Hause, Matt Targett, Wesley, Anwar El Ghazi and, latest addition, Tyrone Mings.
All of Eh Ghazi, Mings and Hause had spent this past season on loan at Villa Park, but are now permanent members of the squad.

Heaton to Villa?
But Villa do not look to be stopping their spending spree anytime soon.
According to Sky Sports News, Aston Villa have enquired about signing Burnley goalkeeper, Tom Heaton.
The report from Sky alleges that Burnley are willing to listen to offers for both Heaton and Joe Hart this summer.
After returning from injury, Heaton played a big role in helping the Clarets to stave off relegation during 2018/19.
Sean Dyche’s side would go on an eight-game unbeaten run in the first eight league games in which Heaton was back between the sticks.
