Aston Villa’s incredible summer spending spree doesn’t appear to be over.
According to the Telegraph’s John Percy, Villa are on the verge of signing Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton.
It’s reported that the clubs have agreed an £8 million deal for the England international goalie:

When will Heaton sign for Aston Villa?
When it comes to the transfer timetable, the Telegraph believe that Heaton’s switch to Villa Park is imminent:
Heaton is due for a medical at Villa in the next 48 hours after an improved offer was accepted for the England international.
Of course, the Premier League transfer window shuts on August 8th.
Is Heaton’s exit from Burnley a surprise?
No, not really.
Over a month ago, the Sun reported that Burnley were trying to agree a new contract with Heaton.
The 33-year-old keeper is under contract with Burnley until 2020.
However, Heaton reportedly rejected Burnley’s contract offer. That triggered links to Aston Villa and Bournemouth.
It’s also worth noting that Heaton’s rival at Burnley, Nick Pope, agreed a new long-term contract this summer.
Pope is now under contract at Burnley until 2023.
Aston Villa’s summer signings
If Heaton joins Villa, he’ll be the club’s 12th new addition this summer.
Is that too many new faces?
Tyrone Mings has joined from Bournemouth, Matt Targett has signed on from Southampton, and Ezri Konsa moved from Brentford.
Also at the back, Villa have signed Björn Engels and Kortney Hause.
Further forward, Trezeguet, Anwar El Ghazi and Jota have also moved to Villa Park.
