Man United vs PSG
Old Trafford will be buzzing on Tuesday night as Man United take on PSG in the Champions League.
When the draw was made for this last-16 knockout tie, PSG were most peoples’ favourites.
However much has happened since, and the momentum is now firmly with Man United.
Ashley Young talks to L’Equipe
Ahead of the game, L’Equipe sat down with Man United’s utility player Ashley Young.
Young was rested at Fulham on Saturday in the Premier League prior to the PSG game.
During the chat, one topic of conversation was how Ole Gunnar Solskjaer compares to Sir Alex Ferguson.
L’Equipe presumed that OGS is far more calm that the Scottish legend. But Young made sure to paint a different picture of the Norwegian:
Ah well, it shows that you do not go to our dressing! Because I can tell you that we were treated recently to some “hair-dryer treatments”.
When Ole Gunnar arrived, in a way, I almost felt like Sir Alex was back. Because he was accompanied by Mike Phelan and Michael Carrick. But also because Ole Gunnar knows exactly what it means to play for this club.
He is obsessed with both victory and the fact that his players flourish on the pitch, like Sir Alex.
Are Liverpool are a bigger club than Man United?
Young was also triggered by a Liverpool vs Man United comparison.
The Man United defender described the Red Devils as the biggest club in the world.
L’Equipe questioned that, while suggesting that Liverpool may be bigger.
Young reacted badly to the Liverpool angle, saying:
Pay attention to what you’re saying. There are other criteria to consider. For example, the popularity of Manchester United is just crazy.
Whenever we do preseason tours, whether in Asia or the United States, all the training sessions open to the public are crowded and there are fans around our hotel, at any time of the day or night.
And it’s the same when I go on holiday: wherever you go around the world, you will find a United fan.
