Walcott is ill
Arsene Wenger has spoken about the sickness bug that has ravaged the Arsenal side, and is still having an effect on their pre-season tour.
The Gunners are about to play Chelsea, who they of course beat in the final week of the season in the FA Cup final, and now may be without Theo Walcott, who is suffering from the same bug that several other players have been impacted by.
The Mirror carry the quotes from Wenger’s pre-match interview and claim: “Theo Walcott might not play. We had 21 fit today. Theo is not ready, but it’s nothing major.
“It’s a friendly against Chelsea and that means it is not really a friendly. There’s always some pride at stake and London desire. It was an interesting game in the FA Cup final.
“We play Chelsea in Community Shield and early in the season again. We know each other very well and it’s difficult to know how prepared is Chelsea. It was good against Bayern and it is another test for us.”
Sanchez to PSG?
One thing Wenger and Arsenal are seriously worrying about is the fact PSG and Alexis Sanchez are thought to have agreed a deal in terms of wages and a length of a contract, and now a bid from the Ligue 1 side could be on its way.
Arsenal have mentioned more than once that they will keep Sanchez, but keeping a player for one year to ensure they’re not set to join a rival and keeping a player for a year when you could see them leave for 50 million euros instead of for free is very different.
