Arsene Wenger watches as Arsenal lose to Nottingham Forest

Arsene Wenger convinced these two Arsenal stars can play in same team

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was posed the question today if two of his players were too alike to play together, to which he responded pretty sternly.

The Gunners have been unable to set the world alight recently and have lost four games in a row, with AC Milan up next on Thursday night.

Arsenal will certainly need their biggest players at their best and two who haven’t been at the races in recent weeks are Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

The two players play in a similar no.10 role and both have been unable to have the creative effect that they have shown in the past.

That has lead to the question as to whether Arsene Wenger is forcing two players, who are very similar, into the same side.

Safe to say, when asked if they can actually play well together, Wenger was completely convinced they could.

“It is, of course, possible,” Wenger explained in his press conference.

“It depends on what you call a number 10.

“Football is full of famous stories of number 10s who have played together.

“History has proven that the best players can.”

It’s been a slightly difficult start for Mkhitaryan since joining Arsenal.

The Armenian struggled at Man United due to his role in the side but while his individual performances are better, the whole team is in a rut.

Though, Arsene Wenger has explained that he hopes Mkhitaryan will help in the Europa League Milan is the priority.

“I hope he will help us but before thinking to win the Europa League we have to face Milan and try to give everything to qualify.

“In my opinion, it will be a tight tie because Milan are doing well at the moment.”

Arsenal infighting as Aubameyang, Mkhitaryan & Ozil targeted

This also comes as reports of infighting at Arsenal.

The side are currently in turmoil but three players are in trouble in the dressing room.

They come in the form of Mesut Ozil, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
