Nelson’s time at Arsenal
Reiss Nelson is a product of Arsenal’s youth system.
The 19-year-old has played 38 games for Arsenal’s under-23 side, in which he has scored 17 and assisted 11.
Nelson has also played 17 times for the Gunners’ first-team, but he has yet to assist or score for them.
This past season saw the winger out on loan in Germany with Hoffenheim.
During his stint in the Bundesliga, Nelson would score seven and assist one in 29 outings.
Hertha want Nelson on loan
Now, the youngster has returned to Arsenal, and recently discussed how the club’s fans support a lot of the young players coming through.
Nelson also opened up on his time in Germany, and how the experience made him grow as a person:
“I am Arsenal through and through. I support Arsenal. All my family support Arsenal.
“There’s an interaction I have with the fans. It’s a good thing. They support a lot of the young talent coming up through Arsenal. It’s good.
“In Germany, there were also times when I wasn’t starting and I didn’t have a lot of people to talk to, just my family.
“Germany made me grow up as a person and on the pitch it showed. Whenever I got any minutes, I would have to take any opportunity that comes my way.” As quoted by football.london
Nelson could once again be back on his way to the Bundesliga for the forthcoming campaign, though.
According to the Sun, Hertha Berlin want to take Nelson from Arsenal on a season-long loan.
