Reports across the European media tonight suggest that Derby County are on the verge of signing Krystian Bielik from Arsenal.
Versatile 21-year-old Bielik made the move to the Emirates in January of 2015, after bursting onto the scene in his home country with Legia Warsaw.
However, the years since have seen the Pole struggle to make any sort of impact in north London.
In fact, Bielik is yet to make a Premier League appearance in Arsenal’s colours.
The last couple of seasons have seen the youngster, who can play either in central defence or as a holding midfielder, sent out on a series of loan spells, the latest of which saw him ply his trade with Charlton Athletic in League One in 2018/19.
And it was at The Valley that Bielik began to showcase his true potential, playing an integral role in Lee Bowyer’s side earning promotion back to the Championship.
In addition, the 21-year-old subsequently carried his stellar form at club level onto the international stage this summer, with Poland’s U21’s at the European Championships.
As such, it was since widely-predicted that Bielik would finally be handed the chance to impress as part of Arsenal’s first-team setup next season.
Rumours over the last couple of weeks, though, have suggested otherwise.
Having seemingly not done enough to impress Unai Emery, Bielik is said to have been put on the market, with a view to a permanent departure from north London:
Krystian Bielik to leave #Arsenal this month. Looks to be heading off to the Championship. He was told his contract would not be extended and is not in Emery’s plans. Had a fantastic season with Charlton last year. #AFC

And, as per the aforementioned updates across Europe tonight, the midfielder looks to be Championship-bound.
As first reported by Polish journalist Adam Godlewski, Derby County have won the race for Bielik’s signature.
It is claimed that a whole host of suitors had emerged for the Arsenal starlet of late, with a pair of Italian clubs having tabled 4 million and 7 million Euro bids respectively.
However, on the back of a strong push from new boss Phillip Cocu, Derby County have reportedly blitzed the competition with a £10 million bid.
As such, Bielik now looks all set for an imminent Pride Park switch:
Były dwie oferty z Włoch-za 4 mln € i za 7mln€, i zainteresowanie całej armii klubów z Championship, ale zdaje się, że wyścig po Krystiana Bielika już zakończony, a wygranym Derby County. Nalegał trener Phillip Cocu i suma odstępnego ma się zakręcić wokół 10 mln£.Cóż, okrągła:)
