Arsenal winger Willian tips Mikel Arteta to become one of the best managers in the world

Arsenal winger Willian tips Mikel Arteta to become one of the best managers in the world

Willian shines on his debut

Willian, of course, comes as one of two permanent arrivals to land at the Emirates this summer.

The Brazilian had previously plied his trade with Arsenal’s London rivals, Chelsea.

But after his contract expired at the end of last season, the Gunners snapped Willian up on a free.

And, if the winger’s debut performance is anything to go by, then Arsenal’s swoop may well prove to be one of the most savvy of the summer window.

Mikel Arteta’s men faced off with Fulham on the opening weekend of the 2020/21 Premier League campaign.

The Gunners completely dominated the matchup, and eventually came away with a 3-0 victory.

Willian, meanwhile, started at Craven Cottage, and played a crucial role in all three of his side’s goals.

Willian heaps praise on Mikel Arteta

Arsenal are now set to face off with West Ham on Saturday evening.

And, ahead of Arsenal’s latest outing, Willian has been discussing his new manager.

The Brazilian international of course played in some stellar Chelsea sides, and under some top-drawer managers, during his seven-year stint at Stamford Bridge.

So, Willian’s recent suggestion that Mikel Arteta will likely go on to become ‘one of the best managers in the world’ should be viewed as quite the endorsement:

“I am very impressed with him. He is a very intelligent manager.

“Since we met the first time, I was very impressed with his ideas – how to play, how to manage the game.

“I think in years he will be one of the best managers in the Premier League and in the world as well.”
