A study by FootballGroundMap.com, involving over 130,000 fans, has revealed which Premier League grounds ranked as the best and worst in the categories of location, view, facilities, food and drink, police and atmosphere for this past season.
Ranking bottom of the pile in terms of atmosphere generated is West Ham United’s Olympic stadium, with Arsenal’s oft-maligned Emirates crowd sitting just one place above in 19th.
However, the Gunners ground ranked in the top 4 in 4 of the 6 categories outlined above, meaning it actually placed first overall in terms of stadium experience.
Gone but not forgotten
Ranking top of the pile in terms of atmosphere was Tottenham’s White Hart Lane, which was recently demolished to be replaced by a new ground for the North London club.
But disappointing reviews regarding both location and police left WHL just 7th overall.
Ranking bottom of the pile by some distance overall was Crystal Palace’s Selhurst Park, finishing 20th in food & drink, view and facilities.
