Unai Emery & Mauricio Pochettino

Arsenal vs Tottenham betting tips: Premier League match preview & predictions

Arsenal vs Tottenham 101 Great Goals’ prediction: Arsenal 2-3 Tottenham

Arsenal were dealt their first defeat of the season away at Liverpool on Saturday but still showed many promising signs.

The Gunners’ supporters will have been particularly impressed by the performance of their club’s record signing Nicolas Pepe.

However, despite David Luiz being drafted in, there were still signs of frailty in Unai Emery’s defence.

Given the quality of Arsenal and Spurs’ attacks and the state of both side’s back-lines, it could prove to be a thoroughly entertaining north London derby.

For Tottenham Hotspur, they too suffered defeat, but their loss came at home to Newcastle United.

Sunday could be a big mental test now for Spurs and Mauricio Pochettino will be demanding a massive response from his players.

Premier League preview: Arsenal vs Tottenham

Despite the defeat at Anfield, Unai Emery will have been encouraged by his side’s performance last weekend.

His new-look Arsenal have been impressive so far this season with the club’s new additions settling in quickly.

Dani Ceballos has certainly made a swift impression at the Emirates and has proven to be a real coup.

Nicolas Pepe has also shown many promising glimpses, especially when up against Virgil van Dijk on Saturday.

The Ivorian appears to have quickly forged a strong partnership with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The duo’s ability to hit the Reds on the counter at pace was most notable.

Now, Emery has admitted that the trio of Pepe, Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette could all start on Sunday.

Given the firepower in attack and the current vulnerability of Spurs’ defence, the trio should be looking to take full advantage.

Tottenham need to get back on track

Tottenham’s back-line have certainly shown signs of weakness in their opening three fixtures.

Against both Aston Villa and Newcastle, Pochettino’s side were caught out, conceding two cheap goals.

One player who has been missing from Spurs’ defence is Jan Vertonghen.

The Belgian has been in and out of Pochettino’s squad so far this season and is seemingly being punished.

Given the errors Tottenham have made this season, the Argentine may look to draft the 31-year-old back into his team on Sunday.

Another player he may look to return to the line-up is Christian Eriksen.

The Dane looked destined to be off this summer, but with just a few days left of the transfer window remaining open across Europe, he is still a Spurs player.

His creativity was most certainly missed from the off against the Toon.

But now, with his future seemingly at Spurs until at least January, we could see him starting again for the club this weekend.
