Arsenal vs Olympiacos prediction: Arsenal 2-1 Olympiacos

Arsenal are on a terrific run of form heading into the second leg.

Mikel Arteta’s side have won three on the spin and are unbeaten in their last 10 matches – making them the only Premier League side not to lose a match in any competition in the calendar year.

Last season’s finalists will be expected to add to their one-goal advantage from the first leg.

In the first leg, Arsenal inflicted Olympiacos’ first defeat since November. The Greek side have lost all three of their away matches in Europe this season.

Arsenal vs Olympiacos: Who will win?

Arsenal are 1/2 favourites to win the match while an Olympiacos win is priced at 11/2. The draw can be backed at 10/3.

An away goal in the first leg makes the Gunners firm favourites to qualify for the round of 16. Arsenal are 1/10 to qualify while Olympiacos are 6/1 to qualify.

Arsenal have only kept one clean sheet in their last four Europa League matches at the Emirates Stadium. Bet on both teams to score at 4/5.

Alexandre Lacazette was an unused substitute and is expected to lead Arsenal’s attack. The Frenchman is looking to score for a third consecutive match. Lacazette is 10/3 to open the scoring and 10/11 to score anytime.

Aggregate: Arsenal 1-0 Olympiacos

Arsenal host Olympiacos at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday night. from last week’s first leg in Greece.

Alex Lacazette broke the deadlock late on in the first leg in Greece to give the Gunners a 1-0 aggregate advantage.

Arsenal moved up to ninth in the table following their well-earned 3-2 win over Everton on Sunday. After going behind in the opening minute of the match, Arsenal came back with goals from Eddie Nketiah and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. They looked to be heading for a half-time lead but Richarlison equalised with one of the last kicks of the half. Aubameyang then headed Arsenal in front, less than 30 seconds after the restart and Mikel Arteta’s side managed to hang on for all three points.

Arsenal have won four and drawn one of their five matches at the Emirates in 2020, keeping three clean sheets in that period.

Olympiacos beat last season’s champions PAOK 1-0 away from home on Sunday thanks to an own goal. Pedro Martins’ side now have a five-point lead at the top of the Super League.

Olympiacos have not conceded a goal in any of their last five matches on the road.

Arsenal were drawn against Olympiacos four times in the Champions League between 2009 and 2015, with each side winning four and losing four.

Arsenal suffered a 2-3 defeat the last time Olympiacos visited the Emirates Stadium in 2015. Hector Bellerin and Mesut Ozil started the match.

The draw for the round of 16 will take place on Friday afternoon in Nyon, Switzerland.

Arsenal team news vs Olympiacos

Sead Kolasinac is ruled out after a nasty fall on Sunday so Bukayo Saka will start at left-back, with Kieran Tierney still sidelined.

Alexandre Lacazette should replace Eddie Nketiah in the starting eleven – as he did last week in Greece.

Gabriel Martinelli was a surprise exclusion from Arsenal’s matchday squad against Everton and is expected to earn a recall to the side.

Lucas Torreira missed the first leg through illness and should start on Thursday. Matteo Guendouzi and Joe Willock started the first leg but could be replaced by Dani Ceballos and Granit Xhaka who have both been in great form lately.

After making a great start to life under Mikel Arteta, Reiss Nelson appears to have fallen down the pecking order due to a recent injury. The winger has not featured since early January but was on the bench against Everton.

Pablo Mari could feature on the bench after coming through 45 minutes of under-23 action last week.

January signing Cedric Soares remains sidelined, as does long-term absentee Calum Chambers.

Olympiacos team news vs Arsenal

Ruben Semedo is suspended for the second leg after an accumulation of bookings in Europe this season.

Pape Abou Cisse is most likely to replace Semedo at centre-back.

Konstantinos Fortounis came on as a substitute in the first leg and could start in place of Andreas Bouchalakis.
