Arsenal vs Eintracht Frankfurt betting tips: Europa League match preview & predictions

Arsenal vs Eintracht Frankfurt prediction: Arsenal 1-0 Eintracht Frankfurt

Following a run of six matches without a win, Unai Emery’s future at Arsenal appears to be in doubt. Even an Arsenal win on Thursday might not be enough to save his job.

Arsenal are unbeaten in their last 10 matches played at the Emirates Stadium – although the last three of those have all been draws.

Frankfurt have lost three of their last four matches on the road.

Arsenal vs Eintracht Frankfurt: Who will win?

Arsenal are 19/20 favourites to win the match while an Eintracht Frankfurt win is priced at 11/4. The draw can also be backed at 11/4.

Arsenal have kept six clean sheets in their last eight Europa League matches at the Emirates. Back an Arsenal clean sheet at 9/4.

Gabriel Martinelli has been in sensational form in the cup competitions, scoring seven goals. Martinelli is 9/2 to open the scoring and 6/5 to score anytime.

Arsenal vs Eintracht Frankfurt Europa League match preview

Arsenal host Eintracht Frankfurt at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday night.

The Gunners’ recent performances mean that the match could attract the lowest first-team attendance in the Stadium’s 13-year history.

The Gunners slipped to eighth in the Premier League following their 2-2 draw at home to Southampton on Saturday.

Arsenal twice went behind and twice equalised through Alexandre Lacazette. His second goal, in second-half stoppage time, may have earned Emery a few more days as head coach. They ended the weekend eight points outside the top four.

Arsenal’s last Europa League game against Vitoria Guimaraes was equally uninspiring. Shkodran Mustafi gave Arsenal a late lead in Portugal before Bruno Duarte scored an even later equaliser.

A second consecutive Bundesliga defeat leaves Frankfurt 10th in the table on 17 points. Adi Hutter’s side have lost three in a row in all competitions. They suffered a 2-1 defeat at Standard Liege in their last Europa League outing. Filip Kostic scored the goal for the visitors. It is, however, worth noting that since these sides last met, Frankfurt dismantled Bayern Munich in a 5-1 rout.

Following three wins and a draw, Arsenal head into Thursday’s match with a four-point lead over both Standard Liege and Eintracht Frankfurt (both on six points). Bottom side Vitoria Guimaraes host Standard Liege in the evening’s other Group F match.

It would take something incredible and catastrophic for Arsenal not to qualify for the round of 32. Indeed, Arsenal will confirm their progression if they draw or win, or if Standard Liege lose. Frankfurt will have to wait until their final group match to find out whether or not they qualify or get eliminated.

Arsenal were 3-0 winners when the sides met in the reverse fixture in September. Joe Willock, Bukayo Saka and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored for the Gunners. Frankfurt have never won in England, losing three and drawing one of their four games there.

Arsenal team news vs Eintracht Frankfurt

Unai Emery has fielded a back five in each of Arsenal’s last three matches but it seems likely that the Gunners will revert to a back four on Thursday.

Kieran Tierney and Hector Bellerin will almost certainly be rested, which could lead to recalls for Sead Kolasinac and Ainsley Maitland-Niles in the full-back positions.

Rob Holding is set to miss out again with a minor knee knock. Calum Chambers and Shkodran Mustafi could pair up at centre-back.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette should both be given a rest, so teenage sensation Gabriel Martinelli may have to lead the line.

Bukayo Saka is carrying a knock and is unlikely to feature. Nicolas Pepe has only started one of Arsenal’s last five matches across all competitions and will surely start on the right wing. Reiss Nelson could start on the opposite flank.

Dani Ceballos remains sidelined with a hamstring strain, so at least one of Matteo Guendouzi or Lucas Torreira should start. Joe Willock and Emile Smith Rowe are further options in central midfield.

Former captain Granit Xhaka appears to be nearing a return to the first-team setup and could be named among the substitutes.

Eintracht Frankfurt team news vs Arsenal

Frederik Ronnow is a doubt following an illness.

Kevin Trapp is sidelined with a shoulder injury so Felix Wiedwald will start in goal.

Almamy Toure and Marco Russ are joined on the sidelines by Jonathan de Guzman who recently picked up a hamstring injury.

Gelson Fernandes and David Abraham served domestic suspensions at the weekend but are available for selection in Europe.
