Arsenal try to sign Everton ahead of Man United/Edu Gaspar on the case – Globo

Arsenal try to sign Everton

Globoesporte have reported on Sunday that Arsenal are in the mix to sign Brazilian international Everton.

Everton has just starred at the Copa America, where he finished the competition as the top goalscorer.

23-year-old Everton is under contract with Gremio until 2022.

However, following his stellar performances at the Copa America, Everton is poised to move to Europe this summer.

What about Manchester United?

Everton has recently spoken about links to Manchester United.

After scoring for Brazil in their Copa America final win over Peru, Everton discussed a possible move to Old Trafford:

I’m a player that’s always trying to get on top [of the opposition].

Cutting in from the left with dribbles and good finishes. Clubs in Europe have this style of play too and maybe I can fit in at Manchester United and others.

What about Manchester City?

It’s also worth noting that Italian journalist Nicolo Schira has previously claimed that Man City have offered Gremio 40 million euros for Everton.

Schira reported that Everton could sign a deal with Man City until 2024, while the Brazilian could earn 4.5 million euros a season with the Sky Blues.

Edu Gaspar & Everton

Edu Gaspar is now the new technical director at Arsenal.

After a stint with the Brazilian FA, Edu has returned to join the Gunners this summer.

Edu’s main job will be to oversee recruitment at the Emirates Stadium.

Globoesporte report that Edu has already started talks with Everton about a possible switch to Arsenal.

Will Arsenal sign Everton?

Globoesporte seem unsure.

Aside from Arsenal and Man United, Atletico Madrid, Napoli and Bayern Munich are also linked to the Brazilian.

Moreover, Globo seem to position Atletico as the frontrunners, as they are willing to offer Gremio 35 million euros.

It’s also believed that Gremio are hoping to hold out for a 40 million euro transfer fee.
