Rio Ferdinand has tipped Arsenal to slip up against Burnley in their next Premier League game, after a sensational win over Tottenham Hotspur in the north London derby.
Wenger’s men were best in every single way against their local rivals and took all three points after the game – but that won’t mean anything if they revert back to old ways, something the majority of people think they will do – and exactly why they won’t win the title, something they have failed to do since 2003/04.
“I’ll back Burnley to win [Sunday’s] game they’re in good form it’s a hard place to go and you don’t know what you’re going to get out of Arsenal,” Ferdinand told BT Sport.
“This isn’t about Mesut Ozil this is about the Arsenal team. The way they played today to a man.
“The pressing the intensity of their game today. But you watch them play 10 games you might get that three or four times and the other five or six it’s not the same.
“At the top of the game when the margins are so small you can’t afford to take your foot off the gas.”
One thing Arsenal fans can take from the game is the fact that key players did well, and that Mesut Ozil shone while playing with Lacazette and Alexis Sanchez in a ‘golden triangle’.
Ozil and Alexis may not be with the club come this time next year, and Wenger has even claimed that he may consider selling the pair in January if they fail to agree new deals with the club, and for the first time in some time, Ozil actually showed why he was so good – and why Arsenal did want to keep him and may still bow to his contract demands.
