Arsenal & Joshua Zirkzee
Several news outlets in Holland are all announcing the same story on Tuesday: Arsenal are closing in on Feyenoord forward Joshua Zirkzee.
16-year-old Zirkzee is described as a “goal machine” by Voetbalzone, who report that the Gunners appear to have won the race for the sought-after teenager after Ajax failed to secure the kid’s signature.
Feyenoord offered Zirkzee a place in their U19 team next season, but the striker rejected that proposal.
Zirkzee joined Feyenoord from ADO Den Haag in 2016, and the under-16 Dutch international striker has since scored 33 goals in 27 games for various teams in Feyenoord’s academy.
Ajax and PSV Have both tried to sign the hotshot, but Voetbalzone now report “Arsenal are the leading candidate to sign him”.
The dark horse
While Arsenal are at the front of the queue for Zirkzee, they may have some late competition.
Ominously, Man United are also said to be lurking in the background. Will the Red Devils make a late move?
