Arsenal & Lorient’s Alexis Claude-Maurice
In recent days, reports spread linking Arsenal with Lorient’s Alexis Claude-Maurice.
The Gunners have previously done business with the Ligue 2 side, following Matteo Guendouzi’s transfer last summer.
Claude-Maurice, 21, is a striker. Last season, he scored 14 goals for Lorient in Ligue 2.
Just a few days ago, Sky Sports told their readers the following:
France U20 international Alexis Claude-Maurice wants to move to Arsenal but 10 other clubs are trying to sign the Lorient forward.
There are unconfirmed reports that Arsenal made a £14m bid for Claude-Maurice on Saturday.
Claude-Maurice wants Borussia Mönchengladbach move
However, in a new interview with Claude-Maurice in L’Equipe on Wednesday, the striker has suggested that a move to Arsenal is unlikely.
That’s after Claude-Maurice basically issued a come-and-get-me plea to Borussia Mönchengladbach. He said:
I want to join Gladbach. They are a club that focus on young players, there is a good structure, they are playing in the Europa League. I like their project and it suits me.
