Sky Sports have this afternoon confirmed that Arsenal youngster Emile Smith Rowe is on the verge of joining Huddersfield Town on loan.
19-year-old midfielder Smith Rowe has long been widely-regarded as one of the finest young talents on Arsenal’s books.
The starlet broke into the senior ranks of the Gunners last season, after being handed the chance to impress by Unai Emery.
And, despite having only managed appearances in the League Cup and Europa League, Smith Rowe grasped the opportunity afforded to him with both hands.
Across 6 appearances, the English Under-19 international notched an impressive 3 goals.
Smith Rowe showcased an all-round repertoire of touch, technique, eye for goal and tenacity to paint the picture of a genuine midfield star in the making.
And, despite having struggled to make any sort of meaningful impact during a 6-month loan stint in Germany with RB Leipzig over the second-half of the campaign, Smith Rowe was eventually rewarded for his early-season displays with a permanent spot in Unai Emery’s squad for 2019/20.

The months since, though, under both Emery and new boss Mikel Arteta, have proven largely unfruitful for the gifted starlet, in terms of game-time.
Smith Rowe has managed 6 appearances across all competitions to this point in the campaign.
As such, with the teen sitting behind the likes of Mesut Ozil and Joe Willock in Arsenal’s midfield pecking order, it has come as little surprise to see him tipped for another loan spell away from the Emirates of late.
And, as per the aforementioned report from Sky Sports, such a deal now appears to be on the verge of completion.
Smith Rowe is said to be all set to make the move to the Championship, with Huddersfield Town.
The transfer could even be made official before the end of the day:
