What’s the point?
One Arsenal star has been told by a club legend that there is ‘no point’ in staying at the club now as his departure looks imminent.
That player comes in the form of Theo Walcott who looks set to leave the club in the coming days.
The Englishman has fallen well and truly down the pecking order after Alex Iwobi and Danny Welbeck were preferred against Chelsea on Wednesday.
That has had the player doubting his future at the club and both Southampton and Everton look set to go head to head for his signature.
Now, Martin Keown has given the player some advice and he suggests that there is ‘no point’ in staying at Arsenal now.
“Theo is 28 years old now. Personally, if I wasn’t playing in the Arsenal team and I was his age, I would be going,” he explained.
“Your love of playing football has to be greater than anything else.
“When you’re playing football, everything clicks into gear in the rest of your life.
“If you have a family and the one thing missing is playing every week then you’re not complete.
“Wenger is quietly telling Walcott he no longer needs him by having not started him in a single Premier League game this season.
“Wenger can say what he wants publicly but he’s telling him what he really thinks every week.”
Manchester United & Liverpool make contact for Alexis Sanchez
While Theo Walcott is one name set to leave the club, he isn’t the only.
Another player who looks to be set to leave in January is Alexis Sanchez.
Though, this time it’s not going to be good for Arsenal at all.
There has been a huge update on Thursday afternoon that suggests that Man United and Liverpool have joined the chase.
