Arrests outside Mesut Ozil’s house
The police have confirmed that two men were arrested outside Mesut Ozil’s house on Thursday night.
In a statement issued by the police, we’ve learned that:
Two men have been charged under Section 4a of the Public Order Act following an incident in Camden on Thursday, 8 August.
The BBC have named the two men arrested as “Mr Ercan and Mr Ekinci, both 27”.
Following their detention, these men will appear in front of the Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on 6th September.

What did these men do?
As may be expected, details on what actually happened outside Ozil’s house remain largely under wraps.
Yet, the BBC have filled in some blanks, reporting:
The men were arrested after becoming involved in an altercation with security staff outside Ozil’s home.
The Sunday Times also add a little more detail into the security threats which Ozil has been dealing with in recent days:
It has been reported that there was also an incident on Wednesday, but details remain unclear.
Are these arrests linked to the attempted car-jacking against Ozil & Kolasinac?
A few weeks ago, video revealed that Arsenal’s Ozil and Sead Kolasinac were targetted in an attempted car-jacking.
Two men with knives confronted the Arsenal footballers.
Incredibly, Kolasinac managed to single-handedly prevent those men from doing any damage, as the Bosnian defended himself and Ozil:
British police are hunting for two armed men who attempted to rob Arsenal stars Mesut Ozil and Sead Kolašinac.

On whether the latest incident outside Ozil’s house can be linked to that car-jacking attempt, the BBC report:
Police said they were treating the public order offence and the attempted car-jacking as separate incidents.
Newcastle vs Arsenal
Newcastle host Arsenal on Sunday in the Premier League.
The Gunners have already confirmed that neither Ozil nor Kolasinac will take part in the Newcastle game, due to these off-field security threats.
