Arsenal provide team news update on Torreira, Cedric & more ahead of Norwich/ Arteta confirms extension to Saliba’s loan

The latest Arsenal team news ahead of their clash with Norwich has been forthcoming online on Tuesday.

Arsenal vs Norwich

Arsenal’s restarted Premier League campaign got off to a nightmare start.

However, recent outings have seen Mikel Arteta’s side improve somewhat, clinching back-to-back wins in the league and FA Cup.

And the Gunners now have a superb chance to extend their winning run on Wednesday.

The north Londoners will welcome Norwich to the Emirates for a league tie as they look to keep alive their European hopes.

Arsenal are, as of writing, sat 10th in the table, but a victory over the Canaries who sit dead bottom of the division could see Arteta’s men bumped up to 7th.

Latest Arsenal team news

Ahead of what is a pivotal tie in Arsenal’s campaign, the Gunners have moved to provide a team news update on a number of stars on Tuesday the 30th of June.

In an official post on Arsenal’s website, the north Londoners confirmed that Cedric Soares, who is yet to feature for the Gunners since joining in January, is fit and available for selection.

Lucas Torreira, who hasn’t featured since the restart, is also back in full training and being assessed ahead of Norwich – as are both David Luiz and Mesut Ozil.

Saliba set to play in Coupe de France Final

Meanwhile, during his pre-Norwich press conference on Tuesday, Arteta has spoken out over Arsenal’s William Saliba.

The young centre-half signed with Arsenal last summer but was loaned back to Saint-Etienne for the 2019/20 campaign.

But whilst Ligue 1 was brought to a premature halt this season, Saint-Etienne are set to play out the 2020 Coupe de France Final vs PSG on July 24th.

And though Saliba’s loan was due to expire on June 30th, Arteta has all but confirmed the defender will be able to play in said final:

“I think he needs to stay there, we made an agreement with Saint-Etienne. He’s been over there all year, he’s earned his right to play that final if the manager wants to do that. We have to give him the opportunity to do that, to enjoy that and we’ll have him after.”
