Arsenal provide team news update ahead of Liverpool

Liverpool vs Arsenal

Week three of the 2020/21 Premier League season draws to a close on Monday.

The final fixture of the game week pits Liverpool against Arsenal at Anfield.

The Reds, of course, boast a superb record at home, and remain undefeated in the league this season after seeing off Leeds and Chelsea

However, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have beaten Jurgen Klopp’s men twice in the last few months – suggesting that this clash could prove a very tight affair indeed.

Arsenal have also been in solid form of late, picking up wins over West Ham and Fulham in the league, as well as edging past Leicester City in the League Cup.

Arsenal team news

Ahead of Monday’s clash, Arsenal have, on Sunday, provided a team news update on the club’s squad.

First up, all of Sokratis, Cedric Soares and Emile Smith Rowe are aiming to return to full training in the coming days.

This, of course, suggests that the trio will be absent for Monday’s game at Anfield.

On a more positive note, though, Arsenal report that Kieran Tierney, who missed the Gunners’ last two games, is now back in full training.

Sead Kolasinac has filled in for the Scot on the left of Arsenal’s back-three, but it is quite clear that Tierney is far superior in this role, so his return ahead of Liverpool comes as a timely boost for the north Londoners.

Elsewhere, Calum Chambers, Pablo Mari, Shkodran Mustafi and Gabriel Martinelli remain long-term absentees:
