Injury blows ahead of Sheffield United
Arsenal have provided an injury update on Hector Bellerin and Sead Kolasinac, ahead of their clash with Sheffield United this weekend.
The Gunners are looking to secure just their second league win under Mikel Arteta.
The Spaniard’s start to life at Arsenal hasn’t been ideal, with just one Premier League win since he took over.
Since he joined, Arsenal have drawn with Bournemouth, lost to Chelsea, beaten Manchester United and drawn with Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
What won’t help Arteta is the fact that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will miss the next three games.
His red card against Crystal Palace was appealed, but that appeal failed on Wednesday.
Now, Arsenal have also provided an injury update, and there are two concerns ahead of their clash with Sheffield United.
Bellerin & Kolasinac set to miss the Sheffield United clash
As announced by Arsenal, Sead Kolasinac will miss the game this weekend.
The Bosnian defender has supposedly suffered a left thigh strain.
Arsenal’s update claims: ‘Being assessed ahead of next week, but will not be available for Sheffield United.’
That means 18-year-old Bukayo Saka will likely come into the side at left-back.
Kolasinac isn’t the only one who could miss the game, though.
Hector Bellerin has a tight hamstring according to the club, and will be ‘assessed’ ahead of the clash with Sheffield United.
Finally, Arsenal provided updates on Calum Chambers and Kieran Tierney.
Starting with Chambers, Arsenal claim his recovery could take ‘between six to nine months’, after successful surgery.
Meanwhile, Tierney is aiming to return to full training in March after dislocating his right shoulder.
