Hector Bellerin has lavished praise on Aaron Ramsey who scored a wonderful goal in Arsenal’s win over CSKA Moscow, and noted that he might have suffered from issues with injury and fitness in the past but he is one of the best players Arsenal have – and one of the best players in the competition.
Bellerin said: “He’s a player that has struggled a little bit with injuries but when he’s at 100 per cent he shows he’s one of the best players in the league and in this competition.
“He’s got an eye for goal as well so we’re really, really excited to see him in this form.
“I spoke to Aaron and he always tells me about ‘cutbacks, cutbacks, cutbacks’ and finally we got one. I am happy that what works in training works in a game,”
Wenger also spoke with Standard Sport about the player, and said he’s now become far more of an attacking threat, and someone who he relies on for goals.
The Europa League is a competition in which Arsenal are currently flying, and they know that getting to the final and winning it might be tougher than they’d hoped – or tougher than Manchester United found it last season.
It’s their only way of getting back into the Champions League – an essential component – but Atletico Madrid stand in their way, and even if the draw keeps the two sides apart, they will certainly have to worry about the side in the final if they carry on dispatching opponents like this.
