Santi Cazorla is unsure about his Arsenal future, and may well leave the club this summer, with his contract up and the club yet to appoint a successor to Arsene Wenger and still failing to make a decision on his future – which given the player is just coming back from a nearly career ending injury isn’t a shock.
“I finish my contract in June and I don’t know anything about my future. We will see what happens but at the moment nobody at Arsenal has offered me anything.
“With the injury, I am going step by step,” he told Spanish radio station Cadena Ser.
Of course, the fact Arsene Wenger is leaving the club this summer may have a huge effect on Cazorla’s future, and after the huge injury issues suffered by the midfielder it remains to be seen if firstly he can play to the level he reached before and secondly if Arsenal want to take the gamble and tie him down to the club for more time – and risk paying out wages for a player who could well get injured again.
Arsenal will be without Champions League football next season after being knocked out of the Europa League at the hands of Atletico Madridand many people felt that was just something which proved Arsene Wenger should be leaving the club and that his exit has actually been a long time in the making and has dragged the club down.
