Mesut Ozil hits his 50th
Arsenal’s German World Cup winner Mesut Ozil hit a significant Premier League milestone on Sunday against Watford.
Ozil had looked menacing in the opening minutes of the Watford game when he slid a through-ball to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
In the eight minute Ozil helped Arsenal find the breakthrough. The German swung a free-kick from the left hand into the Watford box.
When the ball entered the danger area, Shkodran Mustafi jumped high to head Arsenal into the lead.
That goal gave Ozil his 50th Premier League assist since joining Arsenal.

Arsenal’s Ozil > Man United’s Eric Cantona
Ozil set a new Premier League record with his assist.
Mesut Ozil (141 games) has now become the fastest player to record 50 assists in the Premier League, breaking the previous record (143) held by Man United legend Eric Cantona.
It’s worth noting that Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne is on 41 Premier League assists in 89 games.
Ozil knock vs Watford
But Mesut Ozil’s match against Watford came to a mini halt when he suffered a knock in the first half.
Ozil went down holding his ankle after he was clattered into by Sebastian Prodl.
He was able to carry on. Hopefully no damage was done.
Ozil tried to break out into a jog after ankle injury but quickly gave up. Looks to be in real discomfort now.
