Arsenal & Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha
On Thursday, the Sun suggest that Arsenal could still sign Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace this summer.
Zaha is currently playing for the Ivory Coast at the African Cup of Nations.
It’s previously been confirmed that a 40 million pound offer from Arsenal for Zaha was rejected by the Eagles.
Arsenal may offer cash & three players for Zaha
The Sun today suggest that Arsenal may offer cash plus three players for Zaha:
Arsenal are offering THREE players plus cash to lure Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace.
They will throw in Calum Chambers, Mohamed Elneny and Carl Jenkinson into the deal.
Cobbling together some unverified maths, the Sun believe that the value of Chambers, Elneny and Jenkinson totals around 40 million pounds.
Those players, together with a 40 million pound cash offer, matches Palace’s 80 million pound valuation.
Mark Irwin: #AFC will offer Elneny + Chambers + Jenkinson + Cash for Zaha. The club value the trio at 40m which would effectively double their opening offer and reduce Manchester United’s cut of the deal.https://t.co/85vsV0xB1z

Would this offer satisfy Crystal Palace?
It’s hard to see how this proposal is accepted.
Should Palace sell Zaha, the Eagles would undoubtedly need to sign a new creative player in the transfer market.
That being the case, Arsenal’s offer of two defenders and a defensive midfielder fails to address Palace’s needs in the transfer market.
Source close to Wilfried Zaha says doubts about whether Arsenal can afford to sign him. Palace have rejected £40m Arsenal bid & they value Zaha at closer to £100m. Palace would not be interested in taking players as part of swap deal. Would only ever happen as last resort.
