Arsenal match unwanted feat following Burnley stalemate
Arsenal matched an unwanted feat in their latest Premier League outing vs Burnley on Sunday.
The Gunners headed into the meeting with the Clarets looking to bounce back from their League Cup exit at the hands of Liverpool earlier in the week.
Mikel Arteta, though, was without the services of a number of key players on the day, including Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey.
Nevertheless, the Gunners faithful still likely expected their side to pick up a win on the day, as Burnley sat 20th in the English top-flight before kick-off, with just one win to their name all season.
When all was said and done, however, Arsenal were unable to break Burnley down, forced to settle for a pretty embarrassing 0-0 draw against Sean Dyche’s side.
And now, following the game, statisticians Opta have revealed that the north Londoners have failed to score in four consecutive matches in all competitions for the first time since December of 2005:

Arsenal need a striker
Of course, Arsenal’s dip in form can be attributed in at least some part to them being without midfield pair Partey and Xhaka for several games recently.
But the even more glaring issue is that the Gunners really need a new striker to finish the chances they are creating.
Arsenal had 20 shots against Burnley, the most they’ve had in a Premier League home game without scoring in the last six seasons.

The poor showing of their current set of forwards against Burnley even led to many Arsenal fans urging the club to get a deal for Dusan Vlahovic done as soon as possible.
