Arsenal vs Manchester City
There are three matches in the Premier League on Sunday.
Liverpool take on West Ham, Southampton host Burnley, while the final match sees Arsenal take on Man City.
Arsenal finished last season in sixth place. Man City, meanwhile, won the league with a 19-point buffer over Man United.
David Silva didn’t travel with Man City
It’s been confirmed by the Manchester Evening News that Spanish star David Silva is set to miss the Arsenal game.
David Silva wasn’t spotted with the rest of the Man City squad as they travelled to London.
Along with Silva, Fabian Delph, Brahim Diaz and Oleksandr Zinchenko were also absent with the City squad.
Man City’s squad for the Arsenal game is as follows.
Goalies: Ederson, Claudio Bravo, Daniel Grimshaw
Defenders: John Stones, Benjamin Mendy, Vincent Kompany, Nicolas Otamendi, Aymeric Laporte, Kyle Walker
Midfielders: Fernandinho, Riyad Mahrez, Kevin de Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, Leroy Sane, Raheem Sterling, Ilkay Gundogan, Phil Foden
Forwards: Gabriel Jesus, Sergio Aguero
Arsenal’s left-back problems
The big concern for Arsenal on Sunday is who to deploy at left-back.
Sead Kolasinac is out for around 10 weeks with a knee injury and Nacho Monreal has also been struggling for fitness.
This means that 20 year-old midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles is likely to fill in there. He did play well at left back a couple of times last season, most notably against Mo Salah, but it could be a tough afternoon for the youngster up against Riyad Mahrez.
