Arsenal linked with January moves for Gary Cahill and Eric Bailly

Arsenal have identified Chelsea’s Gary Cahill and Manchester United’s Eric Bailly as replacements for the injured Rob Holding, according to ESPN FC.

The 23-year-old is expected to remain sidelined for around six to nine months after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament.

Both Cahill and Bailly have fallen out of favour with their clubs and could be looking to move on in January.

The Gunners are determined to land an experienced central-defender during the winter window.

Despite being boosted by the return of Laurent Koscielny, Unai Emery wants to add greater reinforcement.

Emery is an admirer of Bailly since both men were managing and playing in Spain respectively.

Manchester United are reluctant to sell the Ivorian despite his fall out with Jose Mourinho.

Bailly has started just six games for the Red Devils this term.

Meanwhile, Cahill is also an option, with the 32-year-old being told he can leave on loan next month.
