Arsenal linked to two goalies: Valencia’s Neto & Keylor Navas

Arsenal & Petr Cech

Petr Cech’s days at Arsenal are almost over.

Cech has already confirmed that he’s leaving the Gunners when his contract expires this summer.

According to the rumour mill, Cech could be returning to Chelsea this off-season.

Cech’s return to Stamford Bridge would be in a technical or advisory role.

When Cech leaves Arsenal, he’ll leave a gap in Unai Emery’s roster for a second top-class goalkeeper.

Bernd Leno’s first season with the Gunners

Cech spent the majority of the season on Arsenal’s bench.

That’s after the Gunners signed German keeper Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen.

In his first season in the Premier League, the 27-year-old goalie conceded 42 goals in 32 league matches.

Valencia’s Neto & Real Madrid’s Keylor Navas

On Monday, Spanish outlet Plazadeportiva.com have reported that Arsenal are interested in signing Valencia goalie Neto.

Arsenal, of course, came up against Neto and Valencia in the Europa League semi-final.

It’s announced that Arsenal have already made contact with Neto about a possible move to north London.

Plazadeportiva.com claim Arsenal’s first offer for Neto has been rejected. However, the report makes it clear that Neto ‘hasn’t closed the door’ on joining Arsenal.

So how could Arsenal change Neto’s mind?

Plazadeportiva.com suggest that one key issue is whether Arsenal will play Champions League football next term.

The Gunners will be in next season’s Champions League if they can beat Chelsea in the Europa League final on May 29th.

Plazadeportiva.com also claim that Arsenal’s alternative goalie target is Real Madrid’s Keylor Navas.

Keylor Navas is under contract at Real Madrid until 2020.

However, the Spanish media believe that Navas could leave Madrid imminently.
