Fraser’s impressive 2018/19
Ryan Fraser had a superb 2018/19 campaign with AFC Bournemouth.
The 25-year-old featured in all 38 of Bournemouth’s league games this past season.
In those 38 games, Fraser would score seven and assist 14.
Only Eden Hazard assisted more than Fraser throughout this past PL season.
After such an impressive campaign, Fraser has seemingly been attracting the attention of fellow Premier League outfit, Arsenal.
Fraser is contracted to the Cherries until the end of the 2020 season, but, according to the Mirror, he rejected a fresh contract last year.
As a result, unless Fraser is sold this summer, Bournemouth may either lose him for free next summer, or sell him for a cut-price fee in January.
Fraser is currently on international duty with Scotland. While away, he has been asked about his future.
However, the Scotsman seems pretty uncertain himself:
“The lads have been asking.
“I don’t know myself so there’s no point thinking about it, wherever I’ll be, I’ll be. I don’t know what is happening. I’m not just saying that.” As quoted by BBC Sport.
Fraser plays largely on the left-wing, but he is also capable of playing on the right.
The attacker would certainly add some much-needed width and pace to Arsenal’s front-line, but he may be too expensive for the Gunners.
Manchester United were also said to be interested in Fraser, but didn’t want to pay his reported £40 million asking price.
After missing out on Champions League football, Arsenal are rumoured to have as little as £40 million available to spend this summer.
Given the fact that Fraser would seemingly cost most of the Gunners’ budget, they may decide against pursuing him.
