Arsenal-linked pair Kurzawa & Guimaraes on verge of respective moves elsewhere

Reports spreading across the European media this evening have confirmed that a pair of rumoured Arsenal targets are set for transfers elsewhere.

Arsenal’s January

On the back of an altogether-underwhelming opening half to the campaign, the Gunners have been tipped to move for a whole host of players since the opening of the winter transfer window at the beginning of the month.

The likes of Edinson Cavani, Thomas Lemar and Dayot Upamecano have all been named as potential arrivals at the Emirates over the last couple of weeks.

Recent days, meanwhile, have seen Shakhtar Donetsk stopper Mykola Matviyenko touted as the most likely January addition to Mikel Arteta’s squad.

Kurzawa to Juventus/Guimaraes to Lyon

To this point, however, with just a week remaining until the transfer window slams shut, Arsenal have failed to push a single deal over the line.

And, as outlined above, another pair of players previously hotly-tipped to make the move to north London this month now look all set for moves elsewhere.

First, PSG stopper Layvin Kurzawa, who it was claimed had gone as far as to agree a 5-year deal with Arsenal, is instead on the verge of a move to Italian champions Juventus, as part of an exchange deal for Mattia De Sciglio:

The 2nd Gunners-linked star set for a transfer to a rival European club, meanwhile, is Bruno Guimaraes.

The Arsenal board reportedly set up a meeting with Brazilian outfit Athletico Paranaense last week, with a view to securing midfield standout Guimaraes’ signature.

However, updates stemming from both France and Brazil tonight assure that the highly-regarded 22-year-old is in fact Lyon-bound:
