Ziyech impresses for Ajax
Ajax as a club had an excellent 2018/19 campaign.
The Dutch outfit won their first Eredivisie title since 2014, and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League.
One of the many players who had a superb campaign with Ajax was Hakim Ziyech.
Ziyech transferred to Ajax in 2016 from FC Twente for a fee believed to be around £9.9 million.
The 26-year-old has played 130 games across all competitions for Ajax, but this past season was probably his best.
In 49 games across all competitions, the right winger managed to score 21 and assist 24, nearly one goal contribution per game.
Ziyech’s league record is even more impressive. In 29 Eredivisie outings during the 2018/19 season, he managed to score 16 and assist 17.

Ajax want around £30m
Despite having such a super season, Ajax are apparently willing to let Ziyech depart this summer.
According to the club’s sporting director Mark Overmars, Ziyech can leave when a top club comes along:
“He leaves when a top club comes. He is in focus because of his achievements in the Champions League.
“Many big clubs are buzzing around him. We promised Hakim [that we would] agree to a good transfer.” As quoted by the Mirror.
Now, according to the Mirror, Ajax want just over £30 million for Ziyech, who they cite as attracting interest from both Arsenal and Liverpool.
Back in 2017, Ziyech expressed admiration for both Arsenal and Barcelona:
“Well, I have two clubs. They are Arsenal and Barcelona . That is my ultimate dream.”
