Arsenal legend David Seaman wants Tottenham to win the Champions League

Tottenham knock out Dortmund

Tottenham took on Borussia Dortmund in the second leg of their Champions League tie on Tuesday.

Spurs emerged victorious in the reverse fixture thanks to goals from Heung-Min Son, Fernando Llorente and Jan Vertonghen.

As a result, Mauricio Pochettino’s side could lose the second leg 2-0 and still qualify.

However, Spurs managed to come away with a 1-0 win despite Dortmund’s dominant first-half display.

Tottenham have joined Ajax as the first set of teams to qualify for this seasons UCL quarter-final after the Dutch side shocked the footballing world by smashing Real Madrid 4-1 at the Bernabeu.

Seaman on Tottenham in the UCL

With Spurs through to the next round, Arsenal legend David Seaman has been speaking about his former rivals.

Despite his superb career on the red side of North London, Seaman claims he would be happy if Spurs went on to win the Champions League:

“I know, that would be ace! No seriously, I swear, I would want them to win. If they were in a final against a foreign team I would want Tottenham to beat them, no doubt about that.

“Say Tottenham were playing Bayern Munich, Barcelona, whoever – I would want the English team to win.”

As for his ex-club Arsenal, they will face Ligue 1 outfit Rennes in the Europa League on Thursday.
