The end is nigh
One former Arsenal star has claimed that Arsene Wenger won’t be at the Emirates for much longer after a disappointing season.
The Frenchman has been on the brink of losing the fans for a number of years but the camels back has finally cracked.
That could see the veteran boss leave or be sacked at the end of the season if the club fail to win the Europa League.
Arsenal are on a run of four straight losses and another loss against AC Milan tonight would not help Wenger.
Now, former star Martin Keown has claimed that the Frenchman himself knows he will not be there next season.
Not only that, Keown claimed that if Wenger was a new Arsenal manager at the beginning of the season, he would have been sacked by now.
‘If Arsenal’s poor form continues, Arsene Wenger knows he will not be there next season,’ he explained.
‘If he was a new manager who had taken over the club at the start of the season, he would have been sacked.
‘What has struck me in the last few weeks is that every compartment of the team has been found wanting.
‘These Arsenal players have got to find the performance of the season tonight.
‘They should take a look at Giorgio Chiellini’s display against Tottenham at Wembley, where he was high-fiving every time Juventus kept Spurs at bay.
‘Let’s see some of that togetherness and self-appreciation from Arsenal at the San Siro. That will allow them to go the extra mile.
‘You always have a fighting chance, and Arsenal still have a competition they can win.’
#Arsenal scout Gilles Grimandi says he’s ‘saddened’ by ex players criticising Wenger & tells them to ‘come and get your hands dirty. Today you only judge, but come help the club, you’ll see it’s not so simple’ (L’Equipe)
