Arsenal vs Man City
Arguably the biggest match in round one of the new Premier League season will be at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal, who once again finished outside the top four last term, take on Man City next Saturday night.
The Gunners will have a different look about them this season. Starting in the dugout, Unai Emery has replaced Arsene Wenger.
Emery has brought in several new signings this summer. However, as Arsenal prepare to face the reigning champions, the Gunners have problems a the back.
Gunners left-back crisis
One player who’ll certainly miss the Man City game for Arsenal is their Bosnian left-back Sead Kolasinac.
In a short but painful update on the Arsenal website over the weekend, Gunners fans have been told:
(Kolasinac) sustained an injury to his left knee. Will be out for 8-10 weeks.
Arsenal’s injury problems worsened on Saturday.
In recent weeks rumours have flown about that Nacho Monreal could be set to leave Arsenal to return to Spain.
However Monreal has more immediate problems, as the defender is also injured.
Emery confirmed that Monreal is a major doubt for the Man City game following the 2-0 win over Lazio on Saturday:
He arrived with no big injuries, but his knee has a little problem and he’s training everyday but not with the us.
He’s doing work alone with the physical coach, and running, and we think maybe on Tuesday he can start training with the team.
We don’t want the injuries but it’s one of those things that you can’t help. We have players like Nacho, but he arrived late from the World Cup and also has a small injury.
It’s difficult for him to arrive for the match against Manchester City.
That leaves Emery facing one of two possible options.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles or Alex Iwobi could start the season at left-back, as Arsenal begin the campaign with a patched up backline.
With Sead Kolasinac out for between 8-10 weeks and Nacho Monreal struggling to shake off a minor knee problem. Ainsley Maitland-Niles is likely to get the nod at left-back [vs Man City] following another assured display in the win over Lazio. #AFC

Buzzing to see Torreira tonight, bit worried about our LB position though, Monreal not in the squad so we won’t have a recognised LB for Man City next week
