Arsenal & Celtic’s Kieran Tierney
Will this be the week in which Arsenal manage to make a breakthrough in a deal to sign Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney?
Arsenal’s interest in Tierney has been well-documented this summer.
Tierney is under contract at Celtic until 2023.
Last season, he played 40 matches in all competitions for Celtic. He scored once and contributed six assists.
Recently, BBC reporter David Ornstein confirmed that Arsenal had seen a 15 million pound offer for Tierney rejected.
However, the BBC journalist also revealed that Arsenal remain optimistic of getting a deal done.
As reported elsewhere Arsenal have had an opening bid of £15m for Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney rejected – but there is optimism an agreement will be reached between the clubs, while personal terms for the 22-year-old Scotland international shouldn’t be a problem #AFC #CelticFC

Celtic left-back returns to UK, Gunners ready to up transfer bid
Today, the Sunday Post have indicated that Arsenal’s efforts to sign Tierney may soon bear fruit.
According to the Sunday Post, Arsenal are “closing in” on Tierney.
Critically, the paper reports that Arsenal will up their bid to the 25 million pounds which Celtic have been requesting.
The Gunners intend to offer Celtic 20 million pounds up-front, plus another 5 million in add-ons.
The Sunday Post also reveal that Tierney has left Celtic’s pre-season training camp in Austria to return to the UK.
The implication is that Tierney has returned to Britain to wrap up his transfer to Arsenal.
However, it’s worth noting that Neil Lennon has explained Tierney’s return to the UK, saying:
Kieran has gone back home too, to finish off his rehab.
Tierney is on the comeback trail from a hernia problem.
