Arsenal interested in signing Nicolas Pepe this summer

Nicolas Pepe to Arsenal

Arsenal have made LOSC Lille attacker Nicolas Pepe a top summer target, according to Mercato 365.

Prior to the 2018/19 season, Nicolas was somewhat of an unknown talent.

Nicolas moved to Lille in 2017 from Angers for somewhere in the region of £9 million.

The winger had previously played 47 games and scored just three goals for Angers before signing with his current club.

Nicolas would enjoy a much more productive debut season with Lille, playing 38, scoring  14 and assisting five across all competitions.

The 2018/19 campaign, however, is where Nicolas has really begun to shine.

Nicolas is naturally a right winger; however, he is also capable of playing as a centre-forward.

Arsenal’s unbeaten run

Nicolas is said to cost around 50 million Euros and will no doubt be attracting a lot of attention from top clubs around Europe, given his fine form.

In recent seasons, Arsenal would likely lose out on Nicolas to a club such as Manchester City who have also been linked with him.

However, under Unai Emery, Arsenal should be a much more attractive destination to players like Nicolas.

Unai Emery would lose his first two games as Arsenal boss.

Since then though, Arsenal have gone on a 19 game unbeaten run across all competitions.

Arsenal are also taking on Manchester United on Wednesday evening as they look to make it 20 games without a loss.
